Subhaul With Us

Bring Your Truck. We’ll Keep It Busy.

B&D Transportation has hauled asphalt, base, RAP and dirt for Southern California’s top paving and construction contractors since 2005. When a schedule calls for more trucks than our own fleet runs, we dispatch subhaulers we trust — independent carriers running under their own authority.

  • Local work. Orange County and the surrounding four counties — home every night.
  • Steady volume from long-standing contractor relationships, not one-off loads.
  • Competitive rates and fast pay once you’re set up.
  • Dispatch that answers the phone and knows the plants and job sites.

Subhauler or Driver — Two Different Things

A subhauler is a separate trucking business that contracts with B&D. A driver is a B&D employee who drives a B&D truck. The paperwork, the agreement and the pay are completely different.

You’re in the right place

Subhaulers & Owner-Operators

You own your truck and run it as your own business.

  • Your own USDOT number and CA Motor Carrier Permit
  • Your own insurance and workers’ compensation
  • Your own CARB compliance and drug & alcohol program
  • Signed subhaul agreement with B&D

How It Works

Four Steps to Your First Dispatch

Send us a complete packet and we can move quickly. Missing items are the only thing that slows it down.

  1. 1

    Gather Your Documents

Use the checklist below. Every item is required before we can dispatch your truck.

  2. 2

    Send Your Packet

Email everything to info@bndtransportation.com with your company name in the subject line, or drop it off at our Laguna Hills office.

  3. 3

    Compliance Review

We verify your authority, insurance, CARB status and DIR registration, and contact you if anything is missing or expired.

  4. 4

    Sign Your Agreement

Once your documents are approved, we send a subhaul agreement prepared for your company. Sign it, return it, and you’re ready for dispatch.

Then: Signed Subhaul Agreement

You don’t need to find this one. Once your documents are reviewed and approved, we send you a subhaul agreement prepared for your company to sign and return. Read it, keep a copy, and you’re set up for dispatch.

Sending Clear Copies

Documents must be straight, level and well lit if you take pictures. A phone scanner app (Notes on iPhone, Google Drive on Android) makes clean PDFs. Name each file clearly — for example “ABC Trucking – Motor Carrier Permit.pdf” — and if your packet is large, send it in a few emails.

Keep It Current

Insurance, permits, medical cards and CARB certificates all expire. Send us the renewed copy before the old one runs out — we can’t dispatch a truck whose insurance, permit or CARB compliance has lapsed.

Why We Ask

Compliance Protects Your Truck and Our Customers

Contractors and public agencies hold B&D responsible for every truck we put on their job. California’s Clean Truck Check rules also require a carrier that dispatches another company’s truck to verify that truck’s compliance and keep the records. Getting it right up front means no surprises at the plant gate or on a prevailing-wage job.

  • Public works ready — B&D is DIR registered (PW-LR-1000942565), and so are the subhaulers we send.
  • CARB verified — our own fleet reports under TRUCRS 30010.
  • A carrier in good standing — USDOT 2699984, CA Motor Carrier Permit 0384729.

Questions

Subhauler FAQ

I’m a one-truck owner-operator. Can I subhaul for B&D?

Yes — as long as you run as your own business, under your own USDOT number, Motor Carrier Permit, insurance and CARB compliance. If you’d rather drive a B&D truck as an employee, see Careers.

What kinds of trucks do you dispatch?

Mostly Super Tens, Super Tags / Strong Arms and Bottom Dumps hauling asphalt, base, RAP and dirt. Running something else? Call us — it depends on the work we have.

Where do I send my documents?

Email them to info@bndtransportation.com or drop them off at 26072 Merit Circle, Suite 106, Laguna Hills, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM. For your Social Security card copy, call us for a secure upload link.

When do I get the subhaul agreement?

After we’ve reviewed your documents. We send an agreement prepared for your company — you sign it and send it back, and then we can dispatch you.

Why do you need DIR registration?

Much of our work is on public works projects, and every contractor and subcontractor on a prevailing-wage job has to be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations before they can work on it.

What happens when something expires?

Email the renewed certificate as soon as you have it. A truck with lapsed insurance, permits or CARB compliance can’t be dispatched until we have the current copy on file.
