Hot Mix Asphalt
Plant-to-paver delivery for overlays, new paving and patch work, timed to the paver’s production rate.
A paver that stops for trucks leaves cold joints, idle crews and a bigger bill. B&D Transportation has hauled hot mix asphalt for Southern California paving contractors since 2005, and we run every asphalt job around one goal: steady material at the screed.
We load at the plant you buy from, run the route your foreman expects and back into the paver clean. Our dispatch matches truck count to your tonnage and the round trip from the plant, then adjusts during the shift when the plant slows down or the paver speeds up.
Paving contractors including All American Asphalt, Ben’s Asphalt, ONYX Paving and The R.J. Noble Company have trusted B&D to keep their crews supplied — on street rehabilitation, parking lots, new subdivisions and public works overlays.
Most paving projects move more than hot mix. One call to B&D covers the material coming in and the material going out.

Trucks staged under the milling machine conveyor, then hauled to the recycler or yard.

Class 2 base and crushed miscellaneous base delivered for dig-outs and full-depth repairs.
Aggregate base haulingAsphalt hauling is a timing business. Before the first truck rolls, our dispatcher confirms five things with your superintendent or foreman:
On the job our drivers back to the paver without being waved in twice, control the tailgate so the hopper fills evenly, and stage out of the way of the rollers. If the plant falls behind or the paver picks up speed, dispatch adds or holds trucks instead of letting the gap land on your crew.
A simple rule of thumb: divide the round-trip time from the plant to the paver and back by the time it takes the paver to lay out one load. If the round trip is 60 minutes and the paver lays a load every 12 minutes, you need about five trucks running to keep the screed moving — plus one if the plant line or traffic is unpredictable.
Send us the tonnage, the plant and the job address, and we will do that math with you and quote the job. Not sure which truck fits your site? Our dump truck sizes guide compares every truck we run.
From our Laguna Hills office we dispatch asphalt trucks throughout Orange County, Los Angeles County, Riverside County, San Bernardino County and San Diego County. For larger pours we bring in vetted subhaulers — every one verified for insurance, CARB and DIR before their first load — so one call covers the whole spread.
Divide the plant-to-paver round-trip time by the time the paver needs to lay out one load. A 60-minute round trip with a load every 12 minutes needs about five trucks. Call dispatch with your tonnage and plant and we will size the job with you.
Super dumps (strong arms) and super tags are our usual asphalt trucks because they carry a full legal load and cycle quickly. Super 10s are the better fit for residential streets, parking lots and tight work zones.
